It is possible to live sustainably, also right in our own back yard.

Tribewanted Monestevole is a beautiful 15th century watchtower set in the stunning Umbrian Hills of Italy, perched on a ridge and surrounded by 47 hectares of olive groves and oak forests and a vineyard.

Visiting Monestevole you will experience a real slice of Italian life and will have the opportunity to get involved with the estate’s projects and daily activities as much or as little as you like. Activities include cooking, harvesting olive oil, helping with the wine harvest, tending to the many animals, gardening, growing vegetables and any green energy, green architecture projects going on at the time. If you prefer you can go horse-riding in the beautiful countryside, visit local villages, or just lie by the pool and soak up the sun.

Monestevole has rooms to suit all budgets: 22 beds in total ranging from a private apartment with open fireplaces, to private doubles with or without en-suite, to the attic bunk room. Meals are eaten communal style three times a day, using only the freshest ingredients from the farm, or the local area.

At Tribewanted Monestevole a sustainable way of living is at the core. The vision is to build a model sustainable community that celebrates the best of traditional Umbrian living, providing a beautiful, rejuvenating and inspiring home and experience for visitors from around the world. During your stay, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a way of life that’s been going on for centuries. It’s a community experience, adventure and retreat rolled into one. The impact of Monestevole’s model is measured across 10 metrics. Financial, energy, water, food, waste, carbon footprint, employment, health, education and well-being.
