Benefit from the bounty of geothermal energy by soaking in wonderfully hot water. This long-held Icelandic tradition will leave you feeling fresh and invigorated. Guests at the hotel get free admission to the baths.

The geothermal baths were first built in 1965, but have undergone huge improvements since then. There are two pools, two hot tubs, and a waterslide. Swim suits and towels can be rented at a low cost.

Hotel Husafell only uses 100% pure energy produced on the site. That energy comes from hydroelectric power plants that are driven by the crystal clear spring water that flows forth from the lava. The hot water that is used to heat up the hotel and the pool, comes from Selgil and Útfjall. The cold water in Húsafell comes from the glaciers around Húsafell and runs through the surrounding lava. The water permeates incredibly slowly through the lava and forms clear springs at their roots for example in Kaldárbotnar, Stuttárbotnar and Kiðárbotnar. The water in these hot springs stay at 4 ° the whole year round and has been used for generating electricity. Three hydroelectric plants are now in use in Húsafell.

Husafell is a dream come true for the adventurous spirit and is surrounded by strikingly beautiful nature, wherever you look. The Hallmundarhraun lava field contains numerous caves caves, including Surtshellir and Víðgelmir. The Hraunfossar waterfalls cascade gloriously from underneath the edge of a lava field.
